Welcome into the northern most town in Thailand, Mae Sai.
It is a boundary market town where you can see countless individuals and vendors crossing the border to Myanmar by foot, car or bus over. It cost 500 Baht or 10 USD a individual, if you want to get it done your passport. Till you return to Thailand the Thai officials will hold your passport.
Here you can find everything from fruits, vegetables, clothing, antiques, toys and homemade wine. I opted to try out a few and they were yummy! You can get some amazing street food all around the 15, if you are starving.
If you choose not to cross into Myanmar, then you can take a picture in the sign indicating the northern most point. It is a one hour drive north west and leaves for an easy day trip, if you’re in Chiang Rai. I would suggest visiting with the two Mae Sai and the Golden Triangle to the identical moment.
