We and Victoria talk about exactly what triggered her love of travel her favourite things to do in Cartagena, and more! Check her very best advice for men and women that want to travel out and discover out where she is off to next!
How did your passion for travel get started?
My mom started taking me on last-minute vacations as a teen…we would go to the travel agent in the high road and then the next day we’d be jetting off to Spain or somewhere in Europe. I loved the excitement and the thrill of last-minute packing! It was exhilarating. Once I was at university while I was there and I moved with my pal to Portugal I met with some Aussie backpackers. They informed me that I must travel to Australia, so that I did. I reserved a solo backpacking trip and that is when I really caught the travel bug.
What does travel mean to you? Why do you believe it is vital?
I mean, we get one life (as much as we know) so in case you know there is a huge wide world out there full of exciting things, wouldn’t you wish to say you have seen it before you die? Travel for me has left me more considerate, more self explanatory…it makes me understand that there’s actually a lot of kindness in the Earth, which is the opposite of what you see in the press. I have met with so many people and I’ve moments to cherish forever. I think your thinking really expands and broadens your horizons.
You conduct American Travel Blogger two travel sites and Travels. Could you please inform us about these? How did they come about and what makes them different from many other travel content on the market?
Travels was. It was the downturn, people weren’t hiring and that I did not really know just exactly what to do. I used for a Masters at the London School of Economics and was approved but could not get a bank loan. I thought about doing a law conversion but in the long run, I chose to save some money up and go travel. I started so I could write for manual publications or newspapers Travels with the goal of getting my work observed, but it was my main source of revenue. Besides providing destination advice I write a lot about self love and solo travel.
You’re from Manchester, England.
What makes Manchester such a travel destination? What do you suggest if they visit people do that?
More recently I Began American Travel Blogger because I moved to the U.S. and I’m so Enthused about U.S travel.
It is a state with a varied landscape and do and there is a lot to see. The site has gotten rather popular with individuals who want to plan road trips across America, as well as British expats that are moving to the U.S.
You have a passion for travel across the USA, Although you’re from England. What first attracted you to the U.S.?
Manchester is a city that is very underrated. Everybody belongs to London but that I really like my home city better. Northerners are favorable and the city has a soul for it. For beverage and food, visit the Northern Quarter, which appears somewhat like New York with its cobbled roads and fire escapes. Naturally, when you are into sports, then don’t neglect to catch a soccer game. I’m a Manchester United fan!
How many days/weeks would you traveling in any particular year? What types of places would you want to visit?
I think that it was the films that really attracted me to the U.S. I would watch movies and think,”a day that will be me!” Finally I booked a trip to New York and I had never felt so alive. I did a excursion around San Francisco, North America visiting LA, Las Vegas, Denver, Chicago, Memphis, Atlanta, New Orleans, Austin, and Toronto. I fell in love with the U.S because everybody here’s optimistic and the joys really rubs off. In America, folks are all about the hustle although people are complaining and they’re super friendly.
What do you want viewers learn and to obtain from your work?
I travel a lot. There was one stage in my 20s in which I had been on media trips for nearly every evening of the year. I was tired. I would say I travel for as many as 6 weeks of the year, these days. I really do excursions for days at a time. Some folks can travel and work but I’m simply not one of these — I take away, really enjoy that, then when I’m home, contact my laptop. This year I moved to Los Angeles, Colombia, Cuba, and Barcelona. With nightlife although I prefer destinations.
I like people to feel inspired to go places. Additionally, it doesn’t matter where. It travel or might be researching your home country. Travel on your own doesn’t need to be frightening, it is actually quite a liberating experience and nobody will think you are weird for doing it…they’ll think you are brave! In addition, I hope that people will recognize that in the event you’d like to be prosperous, put things into practice and actually you simply need to stop giving yourself excuses. It is all about taking actions that result in where you wish to go.
